Mark your calendars for the first-ever “Color Me Carefree” 5K run/walk benefiting Camp Carefree! The event will take place April 11th in Eden, starting at Freedom Park. This is being organized by volunteer counselor and Morehead High School student Sheridan Hodges. More info to come soon! And yes - it's a color run with yellow and red!!!

In October 2014, camper Jordan Sims was invited to address the North Carolina Elks at their annual state convention, to speak about the impact Camp Carefree has had on her life.
On Oct. 26, volunteer Brooke Wilson was invited to the N.C. Elks' state convention in Greensboro, where she shared how special Camp is, and how their generous help makes it an awesome place for the kids. And WOW - they surprised us with a donation of more than $25,000! Thanks for everything, Elks! We couldn't do it without you.
