Anne Beaton Jones; February 20, 1932 - August 12, 2016

On Friday, Aug. 12, Camp Carefree co-founder Anne Jones died. She was at home, surrounded by family, and just steps away from her enduring gift. Our camp family has heavy hearts, but we are warmed by the beauty she left behind and the knowledge that this special women touched the lives of thousands of families.

Services will be Saturday, 8/20, at Stokesdale United Methodist Church.

Summer '16 End & '17 Dates!

What a fantastic summer! Thanks SO much to all our fabulous volunteers, especially our Core staff who work all six weeks of Camp, and our amazing Directors, Leah and Tony! We love you!

  • July 9 - 15: SPINA BIFIDA - spinal cord disorders & injuries
  • July 16 - 22: KIDS - well children with a chronically ill parent
  • July 23 - 29: HEMOPHILIA - blood disorders, von Willbrand's & Turner’s

Camp Carefree Clean-up Day!

Volunteers needed. Groups and individuals welcome.

WHO: It's almost summer, and Camp Carefree needs volunteers and groups to help get the campus ready for the kids.

WHAT: We'll be doing lots of projects, from landscaping to building repairs, supply inventory to cleaning, painting, etc.. whatever needs sprucing! 

WHEN: April 9, starting at 9 am

WHERE: 275 Carefree Lane, Stokesdale, NC 27357. Meet at the Pavillon.

HOW: Your heart and labor! :) Our Executive Director Lynn Tuttle will have a master list of jobs, and will dole out to appropriate volunteers.

WHY: To get Camp Carefree's facilities ready for the hundreds of kids who will enjoy a FREE week of camp his summer

BRING: Water, a sack lunch/snacks and work gloves. If  you have extra tools and landscaping implements to bring to share, that would be great! (Write your name on them.)
